Voter Guide: Athletics Board

Voter+Guide%3A+Athletics+Board

Hey Gators, don’t vote without knowing about your candidates. GAP is pleased to offer the GA community our first ever Forum voter guide. Essential reading for the upcoming Charter Day elections.

Lila Cabot

I am Lila Cabot, a three-sport varsity athlete, next year’s varsity ice hockey captain, and in my thirteenth year at GA. I am running for President of the Athletics Board with two missions: I want to support each team as a whole, and support each athlete as an individual. In an effort to support each team, I will address issues such as increasing the fan base at home games and accommodating the needs of student-athletes as it pertains to transportation. In an effort to support the individual, I want to provide better resources, such as expert speakers, facilitate open dialog about mental health challenges, and better support a balance between academics and athletics. If you elect me, I will take this role incredibly seriously, and, as my goal is to help all GA students, I urge you to choose me to be your next President of the Athletics Board.

Charlotte Pastel

I would love to run for Athletics Board because I am a huge fan of sports at GA. I’ve learned so much from sports and have created such amazing friendships with my coaches and teammates. I’d love the opportunity to make our sports program even better, and be able to help get more support for every sports team!!

Estella Tejpaul

Hi everyone! I am Este Tejpaul and I am running for the President of the Athletics Board this year! I am a goalkeeper on the varsity soccer team and I’ve always been super passionate about sports. I have been my class representative of the board for the last three years, and have always looked up to the presidents. Inspired by their leadership, I strive to continue the growth of the program. I have enjoyed organizing and celebrating the teams at GA and hope to bring even more attention and excitement to the programs next year!

Lila Volpe

Hi! I’m Lila Volpe! I’m running to be Athletics President because sports have been a part of my whole life and I have grown a great passion that I would like to share with my peers. Through sports I have gained a new family and learned valuable life lessons. If I was elected President of Athletics, I would bring the energy and hype from the field, pool, court, etc., into our everyday lives. I want to recognize and share a greater number of our athletes’ accomplishments and with the ideas I have, create a greater desire and love for GA sports throughout our entire community.

Caroline Watts

Hi! My name is Caroline Watts and I am three-sport athlete. I play field hockey, ice hockey, and lacrosse. Sports have been such an important part of my experience at Greenwich Academy and I would be honored to be elected as your Athletics Board President. I am running because I want to make our athletics program a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone. One of my goals is to increase support at all games, competitions, and performances because it is so much fun to have people supporting you at your games and to cheer on your friends. I love the spirit day we have in the fall and would be so excited to try to add one for the other seasons as well, where every team has a game and we encourage everyone to come. Another idea I’d like to implement would be buddies for girls just starting a sport to have someone to look up to and to teach them. I think it is important to get lots of perspectives and I look forward to incorporating all of your amazing ideas and let’s make next year the best and most fun year yet!
