Christmas in a Cookie

These festive cookies are awesome all year!

Winter break provides the perfect opportunity to make a sweet treat to celebrate the season. As the snow starts to fall on the ground and you find yourself spending more time inside, baking is a great way to have fun and stay warm.

My favorite winter treats are all things peppermint-related, and I was so happy when I stumbled upon a recipe for chocolate peppermint cookies a couple of years ago. Since then, I have been making these cookies every year with my family and would definitely recommend trying them out!

  • 1 ½ sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • ½ tsp peppermint extract
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ⅛ tsp salt
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup peppermint crunch baking chips

Recipe Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Combine the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together in a bowl; mix the ingredients together.
  3. Add the eggs and the peppermint extract to the bowl and mix thoroughly.
  4. In another bowl, mix together the remaining dry ingredients, including the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt.
  5. Combine the dry and wet ingredients and mix all the ingredients together.
  6. Add the peppermint crunch chips and the white chocolate chips to the cookie dough.
  7. Distribute the cookie dough evenly onto a lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake the cookies for 12 minutes.
  9. Cool the cookies.

I hope you enjoy this recipe and can share the sweet treats with loved ones this holiday season!
