Sarah Callahan and Maggie Varvel:

What are the best and worst parts of being a freshman?

Screen Shot 2015-02-11 at 8.20.58 PMIt’s great that we have our phones now… and that we are in the upper school and are finally adults. But the yellow is pretty ugly.

What’s your strategy on the path?

The path? I don’t really have one. I feel like everyone always walks with the same people during the same blocks.

Biggest fears concerning high school?

Testing, doing badly… APs…the bubble tests…

Something you thought would be a big deal but isn’t?

The path.

What is the most daunting place in school?

The hall outside the student center (the junior hallway). Everyone just stares at you as you walk through.

What is the soundtrack to your life?

Screen Shot 2015-02-11 at 8.22.21 PMSome Taylor Swift song.

What would your name be if it was a verb (what does it mean “to Sarah” or “to Maggie”)?

To just hang out and not do much.

To watch Netflix during frees [laughs].

What style of shoe are you?

Slippers.

What superhero would you be?

Wonderwoman!

What kind of sandwich are you?

Salami and pepperoni. Any Italian club, really.

What do you find most restricting about freshman year?

The biggest restrictions are not wearing red and not wearing college sweatshirts. I didn’t notice wearing them before, but now that we can’t wear them, I want to more!

Do you like the freshman hallway?

I like it, the only thing that is weird is that everyone spreads out– we are very spread across the hallway.

Grace Surgent and Katherine Wright:

What are the best and worst parts of being a freshman?

The best: the frees! I like how during the first quarter your grades don’t really matter. You’re starting high school and there’s not a lot of pressure; you’re just trying to get yourself together.

The worst part of being a freshman is that… you are a freshman. You can’t really go anywhere, and it’s also scary going into the student center.

Who are the most talked about senior boys?

Alex Montinaro

What’s your strategy on the path?

I have to go with at least one friend, I never walk alone.

I use my phone.

Worst path experience so far?

I was walking with my friend and there are these guys who I don’t really know very well… They were like “hey Grace Surgent, hey Grace Surgent…” I felt really awkward, ugh, it’s complicated.

Biggest fears concerning high school?

Failing, not getting into college. Plagiarism! I have heard of all those things where you’re looking at your research and yours is worded the same way but you didn’t intentionally plagiarize.

Something you thought would be a big deal but isn’t?

Walking the path and boys.

What are you most excited for?

First day of senior year, or graduation day, or prom.

What is the most daunting place in school?

The Brunswick student center I don’t even go outside the door. I won’t even go to the bathroom that’s located by the student center. Also just anywhere upstairs at GA.

What is the soundtrack to your life?

“Tonight is the Night” by Outasight.

What style of shoe are you?

Superga… a nike… basically any sneaker.

What kind of sandwich are you?

BEC with some mayo.

What you find most restricting about freshman year?

Not being able to leave during our free and not being able to drive.

Has peer helped you transition?

Maybe a little, but my peer leaders are so funny. Ally Staab is very nice and G-Goody is funny. His insta is so funny.
