Midterms are coming up, and thus the non-stop studying. Exam season can feel like the worst thing in the world, but it doesn’t have to be. Depending on where you study, you can be productive and prepare effectively—and maybe even have some fun.
On Campus:
- First stop: the GA library. Sit near the tech office with a friend, read next to the fire, or take a nap break on a lounge chair.
- An empty classroom. Most have whiteboards, windows to write on, and desks or a table, perfect if you need to make a mind map or just want a change of scenery in a room you’ve never had a class in.
- The newly renovated student center was designed with studying in mind. It has tables (including high tops) and even couches with side desks for working. Also, amenities! Snacks, outlets, and much more. If you work better with people around you, then is your spot.
In Greenwich:
- Cafés like Coffee For Good or CFCF. You can buy food and drinks, hang out with friends, and at Coffee For Good, you’re even supporting a good cause every time you visit.
- If you need resources, try Greenwich Library. There are study rooms that you can reserve for hours at a time, there’s a beautiful atmosphere, and it’s right off the Ave.
In Fairfield County:
- In Stamford, a coffee shop called Lorca is relatively inexpensive and known for its great WiFi and ample seating. Perfect for a Stamford-based student.
Cafés are great, and so are libraries, but could there be a better place to study than a café that’s at a library? I think not, and that’s exactly what’s in Westport. The Westport Library Café combines books, food, and scenery, which is the ideal mix for exam prep.
