Hey Gators, don’t vote without knowing about your candidates. GAP is pleased to offer the GA community our comprehensive Forum voter guide. Essential reading for the upcoming Charter Day elections.

Hi! I’m Chloe, and I am so excited to be running to be the next Arts Board president; this is always something that I have wanted to pursue after witnessing first-hand how arts programs at GA are able to foster creative expression and further build community. As Arts Board prez, I would want to encourage students to have more fun with the arts without it feeling an extracurricular commitment or responsibility.
Through civvies themes, grade-wide projects, partnering with other boards/clubs/teams, supporting peers, etc. art (in all meanings of the word) should be something that only adds to each student’s GA life.
Participation in the arts shouldn’t be for the sake of doing something because you feel like you have to—it should be tailored to the individual. Genuinely interesting. And fun!

The arts have been a major part of my life since I can remember. I’ve been dancing since I could walk and doing theater as long as I’ve been able to read. I’ve loved the arts as a way to express myself, but also as a way to connect with people. One of my favorite parts of GA is the community I’ve found through the arts. I’m running for Arts Board because I want to help more people engage with this thing I love so much. I think that creating more opportunities for everyone to involve themselves in the arts will create more opportunities for connection between students and I really hope to have the chance to facilitate that.
Ksenia Lungu
Hi guys! My name is Ksenia Lungu and I am running for Arts Board president! I’ve been a rep for the past three years and I have loved every part of it from decorating the halls for different seasons/holidays, to helping plan Spirit Week themes and other fun events. This year I want to run so I can not only encourage everyone to support the arts and participate in them (because they are so so so important), but also so I can make any and all forms of art more accessible and easy for everyone. Art should not be stressful and I want to make sure it isn’t by creating opportunities for people to try out random creative activities without any pressure or commitment! I hope you consider voting for me! 🙂

From dance to theatre art has always been an important aspect of my life, but out of all the different art forms dance is the one that has stuck me through and through, as an outlet for creativity, hard work, and, of course, fun! Through all of the places I have danced, no place has compared to my time on GA’s Dance Corps, and I will forever be grateful for everything the company has given me during my time in high school. This is why I wish to run for Arts Board president, so I can give back to the amazing art community at GA that has given so much to me. Additionally, I want to extend the reach of the GA arts beyond the campus with the goal to find ways we can give back to our local communities, using a medium anyone can be a part of—art.
