As summer emerges and the weather gets warmer, new opportunities present themselves to exercise outside. Although we are currently social distancing, there are many ways to exercise safely in your neighborhood and away from large groups of people. This article will discuss some ways to exercise safely to help you stay healthy and motivated during this time!

One of the first ways in which I recommend exercising is taking a walk in your neighborhood. Taking walks can be extremely relaxing and can help you clear your head, especially after a long day in front of a computer screen. Walking with your family or a pet can be a great way to make it even more fun!

If you do not enjoy walking, go for a run or ride a bike. Biking and running are great ways to stay fit and keep healthy. If you want a more challenging exercise than simply going for a long walk, but also want some fresh air, biking and running are great outlets to utilize, especially as the weather turns warmer.

Jumping rope is another alternative to keep you active. Although, if you have limited equipment, workout videos are another great option. If you are someone who prefers to stay inside, they will allow you to keep exercising without having to go outside. They can also be a great way to learn new exercises and discover the ways that make you the most excited to exercise.

Other creative ways to stay active include gardening, playing with your pets or even just walking to get the mail. Even cooking can be a great way to keep healthy, and ensure that your family eats nutritious meals during quarantine.

If you do not have a lot of time during weekdays to get exercise, taking walks between your online classes can be a good way to stay active; think of it as being a path walk, but just inside!

Staying safe and healthy during this time is very important. While exercising is often associated with physical health, working out can also help your mental health. Exercising can be a great way to take a break from technology and can help you to reduce your screen time. Although, most of all, make sure to do the things that make you feel happy and healthy, whether this includes working out or not.
